Strawberry Daiquiri's Story
Cocktail made with white rum, lime juice, strawberry juice and sugar. The classic Daiquiri takes its name from the place where it was invented, the mining town Daiquiri, at the southeastern tip of Cuba. Around the time of the Spanish-American War, an American mining engineer named Jennings Cox is said to have created this mixture in an effort to protect his workers from yellow fever. To give it an original touch, strawberry was added to the classic Daiquiri in the early 90s. This variant is now popular all over the world.
